Data Analysis and
Interpretation:
Total area of the
premises =2000 sq.m
Area of hall for
customer transaction room= 23 x 29 = 667 sq.m
Area of branch
managers room = 13 x 17 = 221 sq.m
Area of pantry = 14
x 13 = 182 sq.m
Area of record
keeping room- server room= 21 x 13 = 273 sq.m
Area of locker = 29 x 21 = 609 sq.m
Total area of
flooring = 667 + 221+182+273 +609 = 1952 sq.m
Remaining area =
Total area – flooring area = 2000-1952 = 48 sq.m
Wooden Flooring :
Cost of wooden
flooring = Rs 170 per sq.m
Cost of wooden
flooring of branch managers room = 170 x 221 = Rs 37570
Cost of wooden
flooring of Customer transaction hall = 667 x 170 = Rs 113390
Marble Flooring:
Cost of marble flooring = Rs 190 per sq.m
Cost of marble
flooring of locker area = 609 x 190 =Rs 115710
Cost of marble
flooring of pantry = 182 x 190 =Rs 34580
Cost of marble flooring
of record keeping room = 273 x 190 = Rs 51870
Questions with
Explanations :
1. What
is the ratio of the total cost of wooden flooring to the total cost of marble
flooring?
a)
1879:2527 b) 1887:2386 c)1887:2527
d)
1829:2527 e)1887:2351
Answer : C
Explanation: Total
cost of wooden flooring = 37570 +113390 =150960
Total cost of
marble flooring = Rs 115710 +Rs 34580 +Rs 51870 = Rs 202160
The ratio of the total cost of wooden flooring
to the total cost of marble flooring
= 150960 : 202160 = 1887 : 2527
2.If
the four walls and ceiling of the branch manager's room (the height of the room

flooring?
a) Rs 136800 b)Rs 216360 c)Rs 178790
d)Rs 211940 e) None of these
Answer: B
Explanation: Area of 4 walls of room = 2h(l+b)
Area of 4 walls of branch managers room = 2 x
12 x (17 +13 ) = 720 sq.m
Cost of painting 4 walls of branch managers
room = 720 x 190 =136800
Cost of celing of
branch managers room = Area of ceiling x
Cost per sq.m
= 221 x 190 =41990
Cost of flooring
branch managers room = Rs 37570
Total cost = Rs 136800 +Rs 41990 +Rs
37570 = Rs 216360
