Case Let 11: In an organization, there are 1700 employees. The organization has five departments - HR, Finance, Marketing, Administration and Manufacturing. Out of the total number of female employees in the organization, 34% work in the HR department, 20% work in the Marketing department, 18% work in the finance department and the remaining 224 female employees work in Administration department.  Manufacturing department has no female employees.
Out of the total number of male employees in the organization, 12% work in the HR department, 35% work in the Marketing department, 30% work in the Finance department, 10% work in Administration department and the remaining employees work in Manufacturing department.

Data Interpreatation  and Data Analysis of given caselet :
 Total number of employees = 1700
Females :
 Let total female employees be 100%
34% in HR department , 20% in Marketing , 18% in Finance
Remaining female employees = (100% -( 34%++20% + 18% ))=28%=224
28% of female employees working in Administrative department = 224 =>1% =$\frac{224}{28}$ =8
   Females in HR department = 34% = 34 x 8 = 272
    Females in Marketing department = 20% = 20 x 8 = 160
    Females in Finance department = 18% = 18 x 8 =144
 Females in Manufacturing department = 0
Total female employees = 800
Males :
Total male employees = Total employees – Total female employees = 1700-800 = 900
Males in  HR dept = 12% of total males = $\frac{12}{100}$ x  900  = 108
Males  in Marketing dept =$ \frac{35}{100}$ x 900 = 315
Males in Finance dept = $ \frac{30}{100}$10 x 900 = 270

Explanation: Let the number of employees left Finance dept be x
                    When x number of male employees and x number of females employees left Finance dept, their ratio becomes 40:19
           Then , $\frac{270-x}{144-x}$= $ \frac{40}{19}$              
            21x = (144x40)-(270x19) 
            => 21x=5760 – 5130
             21x = 630 
           =>x=$\frac{630}{21}$ = 30 Therefore, 30 males and 30 females left Finance dept


Case let 12 :
There are two trains, Train A and Train B. Both trains have four different types of coaches viz. General coaches, Sleeper coaches First class Coaches and AC coaches. In Train A there is a total of 700 passengers.
Train B has thirty percent more passengers than Train A. Twenty percent of the passengers of Train A is in general coaches. One-fourth of the total number of passengers from Train A is in AC coaches.
Twenty-three percent of the passengers of Train A are in sleeper class coaches. Remaining passengers of Train A are in first-class coaches. Total number of passengers in AC coaches in both the trains together are 480. Thirty percent of the number of passengers of Train B is in sleeper class coaches.
Ten percent of the total passengers of Train B is in first-class coaches. Remaining passengers of Train B is in general class coaches.

Data Analysis and Data Interpretation of the given case let :
TRAIN A :
 Total number of passengers = 700
Passengers in general coaches = 20%of total passengers of train A = $\frac{20}{100}$ x 700 = 140
Passengers in AC coaches = ¼ of total passengers of train A =$\frac{1}{4}$ x 700 = 175
Passengers in Sleeper coaches = 23% of total passengers of train A =$\frac{23}{100}$ x 700 = 161
Passengers in general coaches = Remaining passengers  = 700 – (140+175+161) = 224

Train B : 
Total number of passengers = 30% more than passengers of train A = $\frac{130}{100}$ x 700 =910
Total number of passengers in AC coaches in both trains= 480
Passengers in AC coaches in train B= Total passengers in AC coaches – Passengers in AC coaches of train A = 480-175=305
Passengers in Sleeper coaches = 30% of total passengers of train B = $\frac{30}{100}$ x 910 = 273
